Because of You

Mona Lisa is starring at me,
so is Frida, and Modigliani's woman
in her big rimmed hat.

These women on my wall because of you
are daring me with their silent
but oh so loud demand -

Draw, write, draw and write,
don't live your life
like a colorblind mute.

Ah when the celebrated art from long ago teases you an your in ability to create at a given moment. This was well doen and reminds me of the many times I sit in my office looking for inspiration only to see those who are better than me and surround me in books, paintings and lord knows what else. Thank you for sharing your poem I could easily relate.
